BigCat Contracts is a family run plant contracting business based in Perthshire. Originally founded by Andrew Herd and then joined by son, Willem, the business now covers much of Scotland. BigCat Contracts has developed organically and serves a growing number of different sectors in the construction and forestry industries. We own and operate a fleet of heavy plant including excavators and dumpers.

With special interests in water civil engineering and renewable energy, we have experience in cofferdam installation and in-river works. Much of our work has been carried out in environmentally sensitive sites including SSSI's and SAC's. Such works are carried out in accordance with CAR licenses issued by SEPA and are often in challenging sites. We strive to minimise the visual impact that construction has on the environment.
