Welcome to BigCat Contracts Ltd
We are a family owned and operated civil engineering contractor located in Perthshire. We have been operating for over 10 years and supply a growing number of clients in both the private and public sectors. We pride ourselves on being approachable, communicative and responsive before, during and after the construction phase of a project.
We focus on water engineering works in sensitive environmental locations for a variety of works. This can include onshore wind power and hydro-electric power developments, and in addition, storage dams for increased hydro power, all of which contribute to renewable energy generation.
In-river works can include river restoration work, construction of fish passes or temporary river diversions to enable dry working areas for construction of reinforced concrete structures for hydro-electric power.
We build roads and road bridges to enable access to difficult and remote locations.

Civil Engineering and Renewable Energy
With special interests in water civil engineering and renewable energy, we have experience in cofferdam installation and in-river works. Much of our work has been carried out in environmentally sensitive sites including SSSI's and SAC's.
Such works are carried out in accordance with CAR licenses issued by SEPA and are often in challenging sites. We strive to minimise the visual impact that construction can have on the environment.

Covering much of Scotland, BigCat Contracts has developed organically serving a number of different sectors in the construction and forestry industries which include but are not limited to, renewable energy schemes, forestry, bridge replacement/construction, mountain bike tracks, formwork, reinforcement and concrete works.
