North Esk Reservoir

  • Project scope to replace a condemned timber bridge used to access the valve tower controlling the water levels in the North Esk Reservoir, above Carlops.
  • Difficult access and stringent environmental restrictions in a SSSI site.
  • Replacement 24m aluminum truss walkway was selected for its light weight and ease of installation.
  • New bridge to connect vertically to the existing 200 year old valve tower and onto a new concrete base in the reservoir embankment.
